Tatami Mat - Stay grounded with our authentically natural, dual-purpose Tatami mat. These Japanese inventions are designed to offer a sleeping surface on the floor or under a mattress. Crafted from natural products, each Tatami mat is kiln dried, made from heavily compressed rice straw with an authentic igusa rush straw cover in relaxing green which, over time, matures into a golden sunshine yellow.
Many people now buy our tatami mats to use as warm comfortable flooring for unshod feet but......don't try to fit them into a classically proportioned Japanese tea ceremony room.....they simply won't fit.
